Statement
Dating the events of the Bible is hard because its chronology is implausible (Methuselah is said to have lived 969 years) or too vague. A partial chronology can be built by correlating the biblical one with outside sources. Left out are Abraham's journey, the Exodus and the conquest of Canaan, not because they can be proved not to have happened, but because they cannot be securely placed in known history.
