Statement
The prophets rarely add laws, but they record other divine messages that reinforce the Torah's authority: urging loyalty to God, avoidance of other gods and social justice, and warning of punishment for disobedience. The closing verses of the last book, Malachi, urge Israel to remember Moses's teaching, a sign that the section was regarded as an addendum to the Torah.
