Statement
The book of Revelation, from during or just after the First Revolt, shows Christians who pictured the end as a war between God's forces and the Devil's, a scene very close to that of the War Scroll; final judgment and resurrection also have Jewish roots. Not everything does, however: belief in Jesus as a divine being, son of God, has no clear Jewish precedent and seems to come from the Greek notion of the 'divine man', part god, part mortal. Even so, the Dead Sea Scrolls have shown that much of Christian eschatology grew out of Jewish beliefs.
