ZAKHORIUM

Statement

During the summer of 1391 Jewish communities across the Iberian Peninsula came under attack; tens of thousands, it appears, were killed or took Christianity to escape the bloodshed. The riots started at Seville in June of that year, and how they spread so fast through Castile and into the Crown of Aragon is still poorly understood, though there were many precedents elsewhere in medieval Europe.
